Trials Tyres
To implement the tyres rules, the Eligibility Sub-committee (ESC) are working with the Club Library to develop a list of standard tyres for the most common makes and models. This list will be published by the ESC in due course.
The Trials Sub-Committee (TSC) is seeking feedback on the following proposed implementation to protect the landowner’s hills. In addition to the existing ESC rule, the TSC plans to introduce a limit on tyre widths for VSCC trials. Based on the maximum size displayed on the tyre:
• Short Wheelbase (SWB) cars will be limited to a maximum width of 5.50.
• Long Wheelbase (LWB) cars will be limited to a maximum width of 6.50.
If no suitable tyre is available within these ranges, participants may use a tyre from a permitted list specifically approved for VSCC Trials.
Oversubscribed Entries
It is intended from January that the current system using the first come system to accept the 80% confirmed entries will be replaced. The revised system will take all entries received before midnight on the day the event opens, and randomly select 80% to be confirmed. This will allow all entrants to complete their entry at any time from the event opening until midnight, and remove the internet as a deciding factor. The rules concerning the remaining entries will not change. Currently this would only affect a small number of trials which reach the 80% threshold in the first few minutes. Trials Championship
There has been discussion about changing the rules for scoring the trials championships. If you have any comments please contact us via trials@vscc.co.uk.
Scottish Trial
Owing to issues with access to the land normally used, the 2025 Scottish Trial has been cancelled, so the number of trials qualifying for the 2024/25 championship will be reduced.

Event Day Communications
After the final regulations have been sent out, issues may arise where the office need to inform people, eg road closures, hill changes etc. Traditionally these have been done by paper notices at signing on. In future the Sportity App will be used alongside this by the office to send Bulletins and other important information to members. We know many members have limited signal prior to and at the event but Sportity will download all the documents onto your device when you do have signal making them available without phone signal when you are out and about. Members may wish to notify others within the recently established Trials Whats App group but please be mindful this is not an official communication channel with staff.
Bouncing
Driver and Passengers are reminded of the MSUK and VSCC regulations which refers to all bouncing being confined to the limits of their seat.
