VSCC Madresfield Driving Tests Set for This Sunday

Thursday 13 September 2018

This Sunday 16 September the VSCC will return to the prestigious Madresfield Court for the traditional Madresfield Driving Tests and Concours, an event which is now in its 71st year, having celebrated its 70th Anniversary with a fantastic celebration last September.
This exciting event takes place on the mile long drive of Madresfield Court, framed by the picturesque Malvern Hills. Spectators can look forward to the traditional and quirky Tests throughout the day.

In addition to the Club’s traditional Classes featuring Saloon and Light Cars, Sports-Cars, Specials, and Edwardians, a brand new Primitive Cyclecar Class with be taking centre stage. These fantastic cars built between 1910 and 1920 demonstrate the enthusiasm, creativity, and imagination of those that built them in a time where engineers were trialling and testing all things mechanical. Cyclecars were made in very small quantities, so the Club is excited to receive four beautiful specimens taking part in the Tests on Sunday. The age range of cars is one of the largest it has ever been from a 1898 Benz to a 1937 Frazer Nash/BMW.

A Concours for Vintage and Edwardian cars will also take place on Sunday and is sure to delight spectators as they get up close and personal with a wide range of impressive historic machinery and their knowledgeable owners and drivers. Spectators who come in a Pre-war car will automatically be entered into the “Bob Watt” Concours with judging taking place in the afternoon. So bring along your car and join in the fun.  All can look forward to a wonderfully Autumnal day in the stunning grounds of Madresfield Court with some excellent Vintage motorsport in action.

Entry for spectators is £5.00 per car and is inclusive of an event programme.
