Brooklands, Vintage Cars & Historic Surroundings

Friday 25 May 2018

The Vintage Sports-Car Club will be heading to the Historic Brooklands’ Museum to take part in The Brooklands’ Double Twelve Motorsport Festival. This will be running from Saturday 16th June – Sunday 17th June and offers families a brilliant opportunity to take part in this thrilling weekend.
The VSCC are delighted, once again, to be taking part in The Brooklands Double Twelve Motorsport Festival a two-day extravaganza held at the Birthplace of British Motorsport and Aviation. Showcasing the history of Brooklands visitors are able to walk the steepest parts of the ancient track, walking in the tyre marks left behind by notorious racers such as Noel Pope, Malcom Campbell and the Bentley Boys. Once known as the ‘Ascot of Motorsport’ Drivers revel in the chance to race on this historic track.

The annual festival features three main events; The Sprint, The Driving Tests and the Double Twelve Concours. Entrants competing in  two out of three of these exciting stand-alone events have the opportunity to win a Double Twelve Award. This can be achieved by contributing the cumulative scores of the two events towards the Award.

The festival gives owners the chance to showcase their vehicles and experience the Mercedes-Benz World circuit, where the Sprint takes place on Saturday 16th June, as well as the original Test Hill built in 1909, which will form part of the Driving Tests on Sunday 17th June. Exclusive to VSCC Members, the 2018 Sprint will take place on the Mercedes-Benz World circuit.

Members of The VSCC and The Brooklands Museum Trust are also invited to take part in the popular Double Twelve Concours which runs over the entire weekend.

As well as the exciting circuit action, spectators can look forward to the usual family entertainment that the museum has to offer. This will be a great weekend  for the whole family.
