Packed Saturday of Motor Sport Featuring the Royal Wedding
Thursday 17 May 2018
The Royal Wedding may be taking place on Saturday 19 May, but this does not outshine or begin to compare to Formula Vintage's return to the beautiful Oulton Park for Round 2 of the Championship.
With an exciting 10 Race programme scheduled for the day including Vintage, Pre-war, Standard & Modified Sports Cars, Pre-1961 Racing Cars and the Special Pre-war Sports Cars. We are delighted to welcome back the Invited grids from Pirelli Ferrari Classic Formula Series, the AR Motorsport Morgan Challenge and the F3 500’s who all add an interestingly varied content to the packed day of Motorsport.
In 2017, despite the wet weather, Dougal Cawley won the Oulton Park Trophy in his GN/Ford Piglet, with Tom Walker taking the Boulogne Trophy in his Amilcar Hispano Special and Mark Gillies winning the Hawthorn Memorial and Spanish Trophies Race in the ERA R3A. Will these prolific racers see their names top of the rankings again this year with a dry track or are they confined to being wet track specialists?
There are fantastic Spectators viewpoints around the Track which will offer great vantage points for the Racing as well as the Park & Parade taking place over lunch. Unofficial Practice starts at 0830 hrs – 0900 hrs with Official Practice commencing at 0908 hrs and Racing from 1300 hrs.
If you are looking for entertainment during the lunch break check out the three different vintage music artists who will be moving throughout the day bring the vintage vibes to the Paddock. For the Royalists in you the Royal Wedding will be screened in the Chequers Restaurant at lunch time.
Formula Vintage returns for the Formula Vintage Festival at Donington Park on 24 June before Round 3 commences at Cadwell Park on 22 July.
