VSCC Members are invited to attend this Sunday's Grand Chelsea Rendezvous in London, with or without their vehicles. "The Grand Chelsea Rendezvous is the only big classic car summer event of the year in central London". Some 160 automotive exotica are to gather on Royal Hospital Chelsea grounds on Sunday, September 8. The event, which aims to raise awareness of the Royal Hospital Chelsea, its activities and the Chelsea Pensioner's Appeal, is one of a series of regular gatherings organised by the long-established 96 Club, whose founder, Michael Scott, was also behind the first two years of Chelsea AutoLegends.

Loton Park in Shropshire plays host to the Club’s final Hill Climb of 2013 on 14-15 September. This year’s edition has the makings of another fantastic weekend of motorsport with a bumper entry received already. Entries close today (Monday 2 September) but we will consider any latecomers until later on this week so hurry if you want to join us for this undoubted favourite of the VSCC Autumn Calendar.

The Club is delighted that we have once again been invited to take a headline race at the ‘Castle Combe Autumn Classic Meeting’ on Sunday 6 October, supported by Carole Nash Insurance & Bristol Forklifts. The race will be dedicated to Standard & Modified Pre-war Sports-Cars that showcase the Vintage Sports-Car Club at its very best. Following on a week after the last official VSCC Race Meeting of the season at Snetterton, it is an ideal conclusion to the competition year.

The VSCC hosts not one, but two great events over the weekend of the 7/8 September as we transition seamlessly into the Autumn sporting calendar. Saturday sees the Autumn Rally have its second running in the Berkshire Area, under the stewardship of local member Richard Scott whilst our historic Madresfield Driving Tests will take place against the backdrop of the Malvern Hills on the Sunday. Entries are now closed for both events, however, we will still consider late entries from anyone who would still like to take part (or marshal)!

This year’s Light Car and Edwardian Section Autumn Driving Tests will be held at Prescott Speed Hill Climb (without the Hill Climb or the speed!), the same venue at the main Club’s prestigious August Hill Climb. The programme for the day is a morning and afternoon of Driving Tests in the grounds of the estate. These will be the bookends for a LC&ES lunch at The Clubhouse.
Tests will be gentle on both the drivers and the cars with some fun and games thrown in. At the end of the tests there will be the Section’s Annual General Meeting.

This year’s Autumn Rally on Saturday 7 September heralds the change of seasons and moves east from last year’s event, starting and finishing at The George and Dragon at Wolverton, just off the A339 between Newbury and Basingstoke.
The event has already received a strong entry in all classes; however, we still have capacity to welcome any latecomers. But hurry as entries will close on Monday 26 August.

The VSCC’s Welsh Speed Weekend saw 150 members bring their Pre-war and Historic vehicles from all over the British Isles to support the event which is growing in stature year by year. The warm welcome that is afforded to the Club from the circuit staff and the locals and the challenge of the technical Pembrey track is what draws in the competitors. Three drivers and the meeting Steward had traveled from Scotland, as well as many from North Yorkshire, Kent, Sussex and Essex.

A quality grid of historic racers that are more commonly seen gracing the larger historic events in the UK and on the continent will be in action at Pembrey this weekend for the Vintage Sports-Car Club’s Hawthorn Memorial Trophies Race Meeting.
Philip Walker comes fresh from dominating the Historic Grand Prix Car Association races for Pre 1961 Grand Prix Cars at the AVD Old Timer Grand Prix at the Nurburgring in Germany. Not only did Philip put his 1959 Lotus 16 on pole for the race, he also took two victories in two hard fought 14 lap races. He is the favourite for the outright race win and the Hawthorn Memorial Trophy, but he faces stiff competition from a threatening pack of ERA’s.

Pembrey Race Circuit in South Wales will be the base for 150 Hundred Vintage and Historic Cars that will compete at the Vintage Sports-Car Club’s Vintage Speed Weekend (17-18 August2013).
Competition gets underway on Saturday 17 August with a Sprint competition for 90 cars in eight classes.

No less than THREE ERAs will compete at Pembrey Circuit in South Wales next weekend for the VSCC's ‘Welsh Speed Weekend’ on 17-18 August.
Mac Hulbert comes fresh from achieving ‘Fastest Time of the Day’ at last weekend’s Prescott Speed Hill Climb with ERA R4D. He will also be looking to retain his grasp on the Hawthorn Spanish Trophy for Pre-war Racing Cars in which he was victorious in last year.
