Loton Park Hill Climb - VSCC Speed Championship
Thursday 12 September 2019
The Vintage Sports-Car Club - Rounds 7 & 8 Speed Championships.
Although early September, the competitors gathering at Loton Park Hill Climb for a full weekend's programme of speed events were greeted with blue sky and perfect track conditions that would test their driving skills to their fullest.
One result to note and perhaps a young driver to look out for in the future was Miss Inge Van Wortel – achieving Fastest Young Driver on day 2. Inge just 20 years old is in her first season with the VSCC and travels from Belgium to the VSCC events with her competing parents.

Snetterton Race Meeting and Sprint - 21st September 2019 - Cancellation
Tuesday 10 September 2019
We regret that despite the recent change in format, there are insufficient competitor entries for Snetterton; at the close of entry there are only 9 entrants for the sprint and 18 for the race meeting. To run the event would generate a poor competitor experience and atmosphere for the spectators, reflecting badly on the Club. Furthermore it would be unfair to our team of marshals and volunteers, who would be required to attend in their normal complement, and the potential financial loss is unacceptable. Competitor support for our Race and Speed events thus far in 2019 has been outstanding, and our members have contributed to a memorable programme. We thank them for that support as we plan for our calendar in 2020.

Spirited VSCC Members Celebrate 85th Anniversary
Thursday 22 August 2019
Following the cancellation of the official 85th celebrations, that spirit was encapsulated this year by a group of members local to Brands Hatch, who took it upon themselves to organise an ‘alternative’ 85th anniversary and who have dedicated hours of their time and much effort to providing disappointed visiting 85ers, an itinerary of tours and social events in the week leading up to Round 5 Formula Vintage Series at Brands Hatch this Saturday 24th August.
On behalf of the members who have enjoyed the week’s itinerary, and on behalf of the VSCC, our thanks go to - Richard Lance, Ralph Lance, Colin Mackenzie and Toby Galbraith.
Congratulations on a superb achievement and thank you again for being so generous with your time!

Red Letter Day for the VSCC and Brands Hatch
Tuesday 20 August 2019

24 August 2019 - will be a red letter day in the story of both Brands Hatch and the Vintage Sports-Car Club as, for the first time in both their histories, they come together to stage a spectacular extravaganza of motoring prowess; never before has a full vintage race meeting or speed event tackled the famed cambers, dips, hills and corners of the Indy circuit in what promises to be a truly unforgettable day of motorsport.
Over the years, Brands Hatch has hosted names such as Stirling Moss, Jim Clark, Barry Sheene, Jack Brabham, Ayrton Senna, Jenson Button, Carl Fogarty and Lewis Hamilton as they each made their respective journeys to the pinnacle of success in their various sports and disciplines. Nigel Mansell claimed his first Grand Prix victory here, one of the twelve Grands Prix that were held here between 1964 and 1986, as well as taking the Formula One World Championship here in 1986.

Scrutineers Choose Saloon
Friday 09 August 2019
This is one of the most unusual trophies in the VSCC collection both in the design and how it’s awarded. Uniquely, the winner is chosen by the Scrutineers of the VSCC Prescott Speed Hill Climb meeting, who fastidiously check all competing cars. To win this award is a huge achievement, given the extraordinary selection of cars the scrutineers examine, along with the hours of preparation given to each and every car to enable it to compete on this famous hill.
Congratulations Richard.

Prescott open-air car museum full?
Wednesday 07 August 2019
The pre-war car park at Prescott 2019 was (for one day at least) the most prestigious open-air car museum in the world. So many marques were represented, special mention should go to the Alvis owners who celebrate their centenary this year who put on a fabulous display in the car park and the parade up the famous hill during the lunch break on Sunday.
Of course, there was a competition running throughout the day as well!
With the weather on their side the masses of spectators were treated to a full day’s competition of 16 classes that made up Round 6 of the VSCC Speed Championship 2019. In addition, Fastest Vintage, Fastest Young Driver and Fastest Time of the Day Prizes were awarded on the terrace outside the Bugatti Owners Clubhouse by VSCC President Jenny Lees.

'Scorchio' sums up both the weather and the racing at Donington Park last weekend.
Tuesday 02 July 2019
As predicted, a glorious summers day greeted us at Donington Park last Saturday for Round 3 of the VSCC Formula Vintage Series. Even the cars were in need of additional shade.
A full programme of 10 races, which included The Historic Seaman Trophy celebrating its 70th Anniversary, included on the grid a wonderful entry of 6 ERAs.
Large crowds turned out, not only to enjoy the weather and some superb racing, they were also invited to a lunchtime grid walk. The opportunity to get up close to these magnificent machines in full race trim and talk to the drivers has been an inspired innovation by the VSCC in recent times.

Trophy wIn for Bulletin Editor
Thursday 27 June 2019
On Saturday, 40 cars assembled at Eternit Sports Club near Royston for the Hertfordshire (Eastern) Rally. Nineteen Marques were represented, the earliest being James Portway in Nick Portway`s 1922 Vauxhall 30/98 through to a thoroughly modern 1961 Daimler SP250 driven by David Chilton.
Once the crews had scrutineered and signed-on they were able to take advantage of the bacon rolls, ready for the route collection and the feverish plotting that followed.
The entry was made up of 18 trophy, 15 clubmans and 7 champagne ‘class’ entrants.
The weather was clear and dry as the entrants left for the morning loop to the North of Meldreth heading towards Cambridge passing through Gamlingay where it seemed most of the residents were at the roadside to see the cars pass through.
With a break for lunch competitors were back out again heading south towards Bishop`s Stortford for the final 49 miles.
Winner of the Eastern Rally Trophy was Matthew Bell and Jonathan Nicholl in their 1928 Austin Seven, the Navigator Trophy ‘The John Barrett’ was won by Liz Renshaw navigating for husband Robert in their 1932 Austin Seven.

It's Donington this weekend!
Wednesday 26 June 2019
After what seems to have been a week of persistent rain we are assured (by the BBC weather App) summer and the sun! will return for Round 3 of the VSCC Formula Vintage Championship at Donington Park this Saturday 29th June 2019.
A bumper 232 entries will tackle one of the best known and challenging circuits there is. The Craner Curves, Coppice and Starkeys Bridge await interrogation by all involved.
The days racing kicks off with the 70th anniversary running of the Historic Seaman Trophy, which will be contested by a gaggle of ERAs, Maseratis and their contemporaries.
As is becoming somewhat of a tradition a grid walk will take place at 12 noon, where the public have the unique opportunity to view these world class racing cars ‘in full race trim’ close up.
Expectations and anticipations will also be high for Race 5, The Redgate Trophy for Standard and Modified Sports-Cars where a full grid of cars will line up.
