Hawthorn Memorial Trophies Meeting
18 Jul 2015
Oulton Park, nr Tarporley, Cheshire
Following a 4-year absence, the Vintage Sports-Car Club is delighted to make a highly-anticipated return to the wonderful rolling parkland of Oulton Park over the weekend of 18/19 July.
The Club has enjoyed a long and celebrated history at the venue, dating back to the acclaimed events of the 1960s and, in more recent years, cultivated a strong working relationship with current owners, MotorSport Vision and their stable of first-class circuits, including annual events at Cadwell Park and Snetterton. With the support of Jonathan Palmer and his MSV team, we are excited to return to Oulton this summer and bring Pre-war motorsport back to the passionate enthusiasts of the North-West.
The Saturday will see the Club bring its ever-popular racing programme of Pre-war and Historic Racing and Sports-Cars to the Cheshire venue, in the form of our illustrious Hawthorn Memorial Trophies.
The Racing Programme will include a number of highlights, with a packed schedule of ten races on the exciting Fosters Circuit, including prestigious Trophy races for Vintage Racing Cars, Pre-war and Historic Racing Cars, Pre-war Sports-Cars and 1950s Sports Racing Cars. In addition, the day will see the second of the Club’s Premier Cru Racing events, showcasing the pioneering years of Grand Prix Racing of the 1920s and 30s with a grid of original Pre-1941 Racing Cars from the likes of ERA, Alta, Alfa Romeo, Bugatti and Maserati, whilst the day will come to a fitting finale with the thrills of the ever-popular Pre-war Sports-Car Team Relay Race.
Following the conclusion to the day’s racing festivities, Competitors, Marshals and Guests will gather for the Team Race Awards Presentation, followed by a pay-on-the-day BBQ for all, kindly hosted by the circuit, with live music and big-screen providing additional entertainment.
The additional attraction of a VSCC Club Day on the Sunday (CLICK HERE for more information), featuring all manner of other motoring and social activities, such as a prestigious Concours, Driving Tests and Bicycle Races will ensure a fun-filled Vintage weekend for all the family.
The provisional Race Programme includes (subject to change):
